5 Benefits of regular chiropractic care

When you think of the word “Chiropractor” what do you think of?  Most people think of a chiropractor as a person that helps alleviate neck or back pain…the end.  Too often people incorrectly assume that you can only benefit from chiropractic care when you have experienced an injury or have pain come knocking at your door.  It is true that chiropractic care can help the body heal, thus decreasing your pain from injury, but I am here to tell you that chiropractic care can be so much more than pain relief.  

A new year is upon us and many of us have considered new wellness goals for 2026.  The exciting thing is we can make a fresh start and make every day count!  While there are many reasons you should incorporate chiropractic care into your health and wellness goals, we want to highlight 5 reasons you may benefit from regular chiropractic care.

#1 Reduces Stiffness and Pain
Chiropractic care is obviously a great benefit when pain comes suddenly knocking on our door, whether from an acute incident, injury, or accident.  However, as we age chronic pain can become part of our story, which requires regular management. The good news is that seeing a Chiropractor can offer you relief.  Chiropractic adjustments release stored tension where you experience pain.  You don’t have to put up with your pain; you can experience living pain free.  It may take a few visits for you to find relief, or it might require a maintenance plan.  You and your doctor of chiropractic can discuss the ideal treatment plan for you.  

#2 Promotes a Healthy Immune System
Did you know that regular chiropractic care can dramatically improve your body's immune system function?  Our nervous system controls the functionality of our organs, and their ability to fight off viruses and bacteria.  A chiropractic adjustment will give you optimal nervous system function thus keeping us healthy even through cold and flu season.  

#3 Improves Mood and Ability to Handle Stress
Here is a small anatomy and physiology lesson for you. The brain communicates with the rest of the body via the nervous system.  Misalignments (subluxations) of the spine and vertebrae can impair the function of the nervous system, thus hindering the internal communication system of the body.  Chiropractic adjustments improve the nervous system communication system.  When the nervous system learns new patterns, it’s easier to deal with stress.  You can experience things differently, learn new emotional responses, and take control of your emotions. Who has made “exercise more regularly” a part of their New Year’s Resolutions?  It’s certainly one of the most common New Year's goals.  The problem is you are going to be less likely to exercise or move your body if it hurts to move!  Removing subluxations allows your muscles and organs to give you their all for each workout or activity you do.  Regular adjustments also give you an increased range of motion, reduced recovery time, decreased muscle soreness, and natural pain relief. Chiropractic care will make that resolution more achievable in the new year!

Many people don’t realize that often the cause of our fatigue is a misaligned spine.  Regular chiropractic care can increase your energy levels by releasing tension we hold in our spine, which then allows our nervous system to work more effectively.  That release in tension will also improve our sleep at night, thus improving our energy levels during the day.  If you are ready for a good night of sleep, raise your hand!  I know that I am ready for more energy in 2026!  With four kids to keep up with, I need all the help I can get!
